About Avery Point Beach

Avery Point Beach is a safe, pristine, beautiful, clean and relaxing and small sandy beach in Groton. It's a pretty and safe place for adults to visit in the summer. It has friendly locals. It's around 0.09km in length, which is super small, and there are no shades. There are no amenities so bring what you need and please don't leave anything behind. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the sand because it's a popular beach among locals. The views are good but you need to watch out for the weather because it's not always good, so check The best time to visit Avery Point Beach to be prepared. The beautiful scenery includes trees, rocks, cliffs, mountain, sea shells, driftwood, and seaweed - prepare your camera! Be aware that drinking alcohol and smoking is not allowed.

Safety and Access

Avery Point Beach is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. You can go to this beach by car, bus, and boat - note that it's not that easy to get there. There are lifeguards on duty at the beach. Dogs allowed all year round. There is parking space nearby, although it might be a bit harder to find a space on the weekends or during peak months. Pay attention if you go swimming because there are jellyfishes and stingrays in the water. Avery Point Beach is usually calm and laid-back. Due to it's hard access, this beach is undeveloped and remote. The cell phone signal is weak there, so be prepared.

Infrastructure

There are lifeguards, playground, outside shower, and a swing. There are no umbrella for rent and chairs for rent, so bring your own if you need. Nearby there areย no food options, so bring plenty of food and water and remember to take all the trash with you.
