Cactus Bay, a real paradise of wild and unspoiled nature, is a small stretch of sand surrounded by forests and by clear water. Everything around you is peaceful, natural, relaxing. Cactus Bay is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. You can only go to this beach by boat. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so keep that in mind, but if youโre looking for somewhere quiet to hang out or spend time, Cactus Bay is a great place. Cactus Bay is a family-friendly beach, with calm waters that are crystal clear, perfect for swimming. Cactus Bay is usually calm, laid-back and great for swimming. Due to it's hard access, this beach is undeveloped and remote. The cell phone signal is weak there, so be prepared.
There are no outside shower, umbrella for rent, and chairs for rent. But there are some shades to protect yourself from the sun. Nearby there areย no food options, so bring plenty of food and water and remember to take all the trash with you.
The water here is suitable for swimming, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and standup paddleboarding. Beach wedding and stargazing can be enjoyed as well.
January, February, March, December are the best months to visit Cactus Bay and other beaches in Waiheke, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
