Platja del Cortal de la Vila is one of the most famous beach of Sant Pere Pescador. It's a clothing optional beach. There's nothing like sunbathing and swimming au naturel. It's hard to find some shade at the beach, and note that the access is somewhat tricky. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the sand because it's a very popular beach among tourists. Be aware that drinking alcohol, smoking, practicing activities, and bringing dogs is not allowed. This beach is also known as Camping Las Dunas Costa Brava.
Platja del Cortal de la Vila is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children.. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so it is a swim-at-your-own-risk zone. There are lots of people at the beach so If you have kids, keep an eye on them at all times. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones). The locals might not be that friendly. Due to it's hard access, Platja del Cortal de la Vila is remote. The cell phone signal is weak there, so be prepared.
There are no outside shower, umbrella for rent, and chairs for rent.
June, July, August, September are the best months to visit Platja del Cortal de la Vila and other beaches in Sant Pere Pescador, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
