Alvor, Portugal
Praia do Submarino is one of the most famous beach of Alvor. It's a clothing optional beach. There's nothing like sunbathing and swimming au naturel. It's around 0.63km in length, which is small. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the sand because it's a very popular spot.
You can go to this beach by walking or hiking.. There are lots of people at the beach so If you have kids, keep an eye on them at all times. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones).
June, July, August, September are the best months to visit Praia do Submarino and other beaches in Alvor, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
