About Takapuna Beach

Takapuna Beach is one of the most famous beach of Devonport-Takapuna. It's a clothing optional beach. There's nothing like sunbathing au naturel. It's around 2.8km in length, which is medium, and there are no shades. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the beach because it's a very popular beach among locals. Be aware that bringing food, practicing activities, and swimming is not allowed. This beach is also known as ะŸะปะฐะถะฐ ะขะฐะบะฐะฟัƒะฝะฐ.

Safety and Access

Takapuna Beach is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. You can go to this beach by car, bus, and boat. There are lifeguards on duty, but there are lots of people at the beach so donโ€™t expect them to be looking over your kids only. Keep an eye on them at all times. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones). Dogs allowed all year round. Be careful with your belongings because itโ€™s not a safe place. The locals might not be that friendly.

Infrastructure

Takapuna Beach has everything you need to spend the day and the night. There are bicycles for rent, scooter for rent, bicycle path, lifeguards, umbrella for rent, chairs for rent, surfboards for rent, surf school, fitness station, skatepark, water activities, a swing, nightlife, and trails. There are no outside shower.

Things to do on Takapuna Beach

Takapuna Beach offers a lot of space for sunbathing. Bring your own food and drink since you cannot buy anything at the beach, and make sure to leave nothing behind but footprints.
