Tawhitokino Beach is a safe, pristine, beautiful, clean and secluded sandy beach in Franklin. It's a clothing optional beach and when it's not crowded it is a pretty paradisical place. There's nothing like sunbathing and swimming au naturel. It's an ideal and safe place for adults to visit in the summer. It has clear water, and friendly locals. The water there is clear. This beach is so pretty that you'll not want to leave! It's around 2.83km in length, which is medium. It is never crowded here. You can go to this beach by boat and walking or hiking. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so keep that in mind, but if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to hang out or spend time, Tawhitokino Beach is a great place. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones). Dogs allowed all year round.
There are no outside shower, umbrella for rent, and chairs for rent, so bring your own if you need.
Tawhitokino Beach offers a lot of space for relaxation and sunbathing. The water here is suitable for swimming, diving, snorkeling, and fishing. Walking and running can be enjoyed as well.
January, February, March, December are the best months to visit Tawhitokino Beach and other beaches in Franklin, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
