Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic
Playa Bonita is one of the most famous beach of Las Terrenas. It's a clothing optional beach. There's nothing like sunbathing and swimming au naturel. This beach is so pretty that you'll spend hours here! It's around 3.26km in length, which is big. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the beach because it's a very popular spot. The views are amazing and the weather is warm all year round.
Playa Bonita is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. You can go to this beach by car - note that it's not that easy to get there.. There are lots of people at the beach so If you have kids, keep an eye on them at all times. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones). Be careful with your belongings because it’s not a safe place.
Playa Bonita offers a lot of space for sunbathing. The water here is suitable for swimming.
July, August, September, October are the best months to visit Playa Bonita and other beaches in Las Terrenas, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
