Playa Prieta is a pristine, beautiful and family-friendly pebbly beach in Machalilla. It's a clothing optional beach and when it's not crowded it is a pretty paradisical place. There's nothing like sunbathing and swimming au naturel. And the local attitude is good, so you're not going to be bothered by anyone else on the beach. It has clear water, friendly locals, easy access, and good 3G+ coverage. The water there is crystal clear. This beach is so pretty that you'll not want to leave! It's around 1.09km in length, which is medium, and there are no shades. The views are amazing and the weather is warm all year round. Be aware that practicing activities, bringing dogs, smoking, bringing food, and drinking alcohol is not allowed. This beach is also known as Playita Negra Beach.
You can only go to this beach by walking or hiking. It's easy to get there, which makes it perfect for families! There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so it is a swim-at-your-own-risk zone. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones).
There are cleaning, bicycles for rent, and outside shower.
Playa Prieta offers a lot of space for sunbathing and family games. Bring your own food and drink since you cannot buy anything at the beach, and make sure to leave nothing behind but footprints.
April, May, June, July are the best months to visit Playa Prieta and other beaches in Machalilla, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
