Also known as Playa Rajada.
La Cruz, Costa Rica
Playa Toyosa is a pristine, beautiful, clean, secluded, relaxing and private sandy beach in La Cruz. It's known for being one of the most serene beaches in La Cruz. You could spend hours here just relaxing or reading books in peace without interruption - perfect if your ideal summer day includes only doing what you love! Those who want an escape from everyday life will delight in this beachโs remoteness and find the tranquility they seek. It's one of the best places to go for those who want to get away from it all! It's hard to find some shade at the beach because there are no trees on the shore, and note that the access is somewhat tricky. There are no amenities so bring what you need and please don't leave anything behind. The views are good and the weather is warm all year round. The beautiful scenery includes rocks and driftwood - prepare your camera! Be aware that drinking alcohol, smoking, bringing food, practicing activities, and bringing dogs is not allowed. This beach is also known as Playa Rajada.
Playa Toyosa is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. You can only go to this beach by boat. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so keep that in mind, but if youโre looking for somewhere quiet to hang out, Playa Toyosa is a good place. Be careful with your belongings because itโs not a safe place. Pay attention if you go swimming because there are sharks, jellyfishes, and stingrays in the water. The locals might not be that friendly. Due to it's hard access, this beach is undeveloped and remote. The cell phone signal is weak there, so be prepared.
There are no outside shower, umbrella for rent, and chairs for rent.
There are no water sports here. Bring your own food and drink since you cannot buy anything at the beach, and make sure to leave nothing behind but footprints.
March, October, November, December are the best months to visit Playa Toyosa and other beaches in La Cruz, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
