Ilhabela, State of São Paulo, Brazil
Praia do Bonete, a real paradise of wild and unspoiled nature, is a 1.44km stretch of sand surrounded by mountains and by clear water. It has clear water, and friendly locals. You will find that the water here, as with many of the other Ilhabela beaches is crystal clear and extremely inviting Ideal for snorkeling. This beach is so pretty that it almost seems surreal! The views are amazing and the weather is usually nice. The spectacular scenery includes trees, rocks, mountain, and sea shells - prepare your camera!
Praia do Bonete is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. To get here is an adventure. You can go to this beach by boat and walking or hiking - note that it's not that easy to get there. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so keep that in mind, but if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to hang out or spend time, Praia do Bonete is a great place. Pay attention if you go swimming because there are stingrays in the water. Due to it's hard access, this beach is undeveloped and remote. The cell phone signal is weak there, so be prepared.
There are trails, shades, food options, and cleaning. There are no outside shower, so bring your own if you need. There are some shades to protect yourself from the sun.
Praia do Bonete offers a lot of space for relaxation and sunbathing. If you are seeking food and refreshment, there are some options. The water here is suitable for surfing, swimming, snorkeling, and fishing. Running, watching the sunset, and stargazing can be enjoyed as well.
April, May, September, November are the best months to visit Praia do Bonete and other beaches in Ilhabela, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
