Sandbar Beach is a safe, pristine, beautiful, clean and family-friendly and small sandy beach in South Glens Falls. It's a pretty and safe place for both adults and children to visit in the summer. It has clear water, and friendly locals. You will find that the water here, as with many of the other South Glens Falls beaches is clear and extremely inviting. This beach is so pretty that is totally worth it! It's around 0.17km in length, which is super small. There are no amenities so bring what you need and please don't leave anything behind. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the sand because it's a popular beach among locals. You can go to this beach by boat and walking or hiking - note that it's not that easy to get there. There are lifeguards on duty at the beach. Sandbar Beach is a very family-friendly beach, with calm waters that are clear and shallow, perfect for swimming safely.
There are shades, cleaning, bicycle path, lifeguards, playground, a swing, and trails. There are no outside shower, umbrella for rent, and chairs for rent, so bring your own if you need.
The water here is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and kayaking. Walking, running, and volleyball can be enjoyed as well.
June, July, August, September are the best months to visit Sandbar Beach and other beaches in South Glens Falls, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
