Sandy Point Beach is a safe beach in Charleston County. It's a clothing optional beach. There's nothing like sunbathing and swimming au naturel. It's hard to find some shade at the beach, and note that the access is somewhat tricky. There are no amenities so bring what you need and please don't leave anything behind. Be aware that bringing dogs, drinking alcohol, smoking, and bringing food is not allowed.
Sandy Point Beach is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. You can go to this beach by boat and walking or hiking. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so it is a swim-at-your-own-risk zone. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones). Due to it's hard access, Sandy Point Beach is remote. The cell phone signal is weak there, so be prepared.
There are a swing and nightlife. There are no outside shower, umbrella for rent, and chairs for rent.
Bring your own food and drink since you cannot buy anything at the beach, and make sure to leave nothing behind but footprints.
May, June, September, October are the best months to visit Sandy Point Beach and other beaches in Charleston County, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
