Secret Beach is one of the most famous beach of Townsville. It's a clothing optional beach. There's nothing like sunbathing au naturel. It's around 1.14km in length, which is medium, and there are no shades. There are no amenities so bring what you need and please don't leave anything behind. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the beach because it's a very popular beach among tourists. Be aware that bringing dogs, swimming, drinking alcohol, smoking, bringing food, and practicing activities is not allowed.

Safety and Access

Secret Beach is one of the more challenging beaches to access. It is not wheelchair accessible and difficult for disabled visitors and small children. To get here is an adventure. . There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so it is a swim-at-your-own-risk zone. There are lots of people at the beach so If you have kids, keep an eye on them at all times. Be aware that this is a clothing optional beach (so there might be nudist zones). Be careful with your belongings because it’s not a safe place. The locals might not be that friendly. Due to it's hard access, Secret Beach is undeveloped and remote. The cell phone signal is weak there, so be prepared.

Infrastructure

There are shops, scooter for rent, bicycle path, a swing, nightlife, and free wi-fi. There are no outside shower, umbrella for rent, and chairs for rent.

Things to do on Secret Beach

Secret Beach offers a lot of space for relaxation and sunbathing. Bring your own food and drink since you cannot buy anything at the beach, and make sure to leave nothing behind but footprints.
