Also known as IJburg Beach.
Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
Strand IJburg is a safe, clean, family-friendly and private sandy beach in Amsterdam. It has friendly locals, easy access, and good 3G+ coverage. It's around 1.1km in length, which is medium, and there are no shades. There are no amenities so bring what you need and please don't leave anything behind. In peak summer months it can be difficult to stake out a peaceful place on the sand because it's a popular beach among tourists. Be aware that swimming, drinking alcohol, smoking, bringing food, practicing activities, and bringing dogs is not allowed. This beach is also known as IJburg Beach.
You can go to this beach by car, bus, boat, and walking or hiking. It's easy to get there.
There are surfboards for rent, water activities, and a swing. There are no umbrella for rent and chairs for rent.
Strand IJburg offers a lot of space for sunbathing and family games. Bring your own food and drink since you cannot buy anything at the beach, and make sure to leave nothing behind but footprints.
June, July, August, September are the best months to visit Strand IJburg and other beaches in Amsterdam, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
