Te Wharau is a safe, pristine, beautiful and clean and small pebbly beach in Waiheke. It's a clothing optional beach and when it's not crowded it is a nice place. There's nothing like sunbathing and swimming au naturel. And the local attitude is good, so you're not going to be bothered by anyone else on the beach. It's a pretty and safe place for adults to visit in the summer. It has clear water, friendly locals, and easy access. The water there is crystal clear. January, February, March, December are the best months to visit Te Wharau and other beaches in Waiheke, because that's when the temperatures are warm and there's probably less crowd (not guaranteed).
